 A legacy is not much different than ripples on a glass-smooth pond. Whether the source remains on the surface or sinks to the bottom the ripples can keep going for a long time to come.
The choices that we make today may seem inconsequential at the time but the ripple-effect can go on. The Bible says that the ripple effect of sin in our lives is death (Romans 3:23). The problem is that there is no way for a person to enter into life without casting a ripple of sin. We all do it and death is guaranteed. God understoood this problem and sent His son, Jesus Christ to take care of the consequence of sin. When Jesus died on the cross He became our sin and took our punishment so that we might live forever with Him in heaven (Romans 6:23).
Jesus has this incredible way of making new waves in your life. When you trust Him as your Savior and Lord He begins to change you from the inside out. He gives a reason and purpose in life that you never knew existed. He begins to heal old hurts. He begins to shelter you from shame. He begins to even help you to love others as you never thought possible. In reality...they're not just new ripples but rather a new legacy. A legacy that starts with new life in Him.
